2 teens charged in Houston jugging robbery that left 44-year-old paralyzed, local restaurant helping family

A local restaurant is stepping in to help the victim’s family after two teenagers were charged in a jugging robbery that left a 44-year-old mother of three seriously injured.
Court documents reveal that Joseph Harrell, 17, assaulted a woman at gunpoint on February 25, just 12 days after he robbed and injured Nhung Truong.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner expressed his outrage over the incident and Harrell’s actions, which were captured on video.
Along with 19-year-old Zynika Woods, Harrell followed Truong from a bank where she had withdrawn over $4,000 and tried to steal her money in the 9800 block of Bellaire.
When he learned she didn’t have the cash, he slammed her down on the concrete, causing serious injuries that have left her unable to walk.
The restaurant, Ambriza Social Mexican Kitchen, has pledged to pay Truong’s rent for a year if needed. Harrell’s bond is set at $240,000.
