Doctors did not dare to touch a pregnant woman: 3 minutes later, a huge celebration in the delivery room

When Oksana Kobeletsky, from Odessa, Ukraine, became pregnant, she was happy and joyful.

The 36-year-old woman was already a mother of a 3-year-old girl, and she and her husband Sergei wanted to expand the family.

But what they thought would be a normal pregnancy evolved into an amazing twist that left the whole world speechless.

Oksana and Sergei did not plan to have a large family, they agreed that having two children is perfect.

They just do not have the means to take care of a large family, so two was the agreed number for both.

But already in the early stages of pregnancy Oksana suspected she had more than one child in her womb.

She could not help but think that something felt different.

“No one in our family was pregnant with twins. I was sure I would never experience something like this”, Oksana said.

But the fact is, that was just the beginning, and a very big surprise was about to be revealed..

When Oksana went for an ultrasound, she saw the doctor’s face change.

And soon after she got some amazing news.

“When I saw the shock on the doctor’s face, my heart stopped”, Oksana said, continuing:
“So I heard him mumble something like: ‘You deserve a big house on the sea..’..”

So the doctor explained: “I see five fetuses. Maybe six. It’s hard to know”.

It turned out that Oksana was about to give birth to five babies.

As you can probably imagine, this is extremely rare. Only 1 in 47,458,321 pregnancies are with a quintuplets.

While Oksana was still trying to process the news, the doctor ran around the hospital enthusiastically. No one in the hospital had ever seen anything like it.

But for Oksana and Sergei it was not just smiles.

“It felt almost like a nightmare, and I thought I would wake up at any moment”, Oksana recalls.

She and her husband could not help but worry. They realized they would have to change all their future plans.

“It takes time to process and absorb such news. I mean, how do we manage to take care of so many children”, Sergei said.

At week 30, Oksana traveled to the hospital to prepare for childbirth.

When she arrived at the delivery room, 8 doctors were waiting for her there.

“They treated me like I was made of porcelain – they were very careful”, Oksana said.

Oksana gave birth to three sons and two daughters by caesarean section.

The doctors prepared for the worst, because such a pregnancy carries with it many risks.

But when it was all over, the doctors confirmed that all five babies were born healthy and intact, even though they were born at week 30.

The babies Daria, Alexandra, Dennis, Vladislav and David became celebrities overnight.

The birth was historic – the babies were the first ever quintuplets in Ukraine.

Today the babies are 18 months old.

Oksana and Sergei took on the challenge of caring for such a large family.

Everywhere they go people stop them, greet them and get excited about the babies.

Recently the family moved to a larger house, which the local authority helped them organize.

On her Instagram account, Oksana shares photos of the ‘Five Treasures’ and their sweet big sister.
