Memphis woman allegedly shot salesman because she thought he was a hit man

A former Sheriff’s Office captain was taken into custody this week for allegedly shooting a pest control salesman because she believed him to be a hit man.
She reportedly thought he was carrying an assault rifle, so she ran to the attic and said, “They’re here.” Johnson allegedly fired at the “unknown subject,” who turned out to be a salesman carrying an iPad.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the torso. Investigators reportedly found the firearm in the attic’s crawlspace. Deputies arrested Johnson and booked her into the Shelby County Jail for aggravated assault. She posted a $4,000 bond the next day.
