Here are fresh update from Kansas City parking lot shooting

An early Sunday shooting left three people dead and five others injured when gunfire erupted at a large gathering in Kansas City, authorities said.

The victims were two men and a woman, police said. They were fatally shot at around 4:30 a.m. at 57th and Prospect Avenue.

Officers also tended to five other victims who sustained gunshot wounds. Some of the slain victims were located in a nearby street.

Kansas City Police Department Chief Stacey Graves said that the incident occurred outside a business that operates after hours.

“If the business knew persons would be present, without security, selling alcohol, and thwarting our laws, that business should be closed,” said Mayor Quinton Lucas.

A reward of $25,000 is being offered for any information about the shooting or suspects.

Witnesses are asked to contact Homicide detectives at 816-234-5034 or anonymously at 816-474-TIPS.
