Hero Veteran Takes Down Knife-Wielding Thief in South Carolina Walmart

Unfortunately, it seems like every other day, you see a story about crime in a retail shopping establishment. In cities across the U.S., shoplifting is rampant and it’s a hot political topic as to why. It’s also not uncommon to see a video like this, where a criminal threatens everyday shoppers.

In this video, an unidentified man came into a Columbia, South Carolina, Walmart and started waving a knife, shouting and threatening to cut people. The assailant reportedly yelled “when the cops get here, I’m going to start cutting you all up.”

Little did the criminal know that one of the people in the store was Demario Davis, a veteran of the U.S. military, who was there shopping with his son. “I was at the checkout when my son noticed the guy walk in with the knife open,” Demario said. “He then proceeded to the service desk waving the knife at a few female employees.”

As the assailant kept shouting and waving the knife, another man confronted him. While the assailant’s attention was on that other man, Demario waited for the right moment, then sprang into action.
