Leaked Audio Recording Could Be Key Evidence in Trump Case, Dershowitz Advice He Stays Quiet

Former President Donald Trump should stay quiet about the evidence in his criminal case, according to his former impeachment lawyer Alan Dershowitz.

Dershowitz said that Trump’s comments about the evidence are creating problems for his lawyers and could make it more difficult for them to defend him at trial.

Trump has been charged with 37 felony counts related to his post-presidency handling of classified documents. The charges allege that Trump discussed classified information with people who did not have the proper security clearances.

A key piece of evidence in the case is a leaked audio recording in which Trump is heard speaking about what he called a classified document outlining a plan to attack Iran.

Trump has denied that he was referring to any classified materials, but the recording suggests otherwise.

Dershowitz said that Trump’s lawyers will have a hard time defending him if he continues to comment on the evidence.

“Every time he speaks about the evidence, he creates a problem for his lawyers at trial,” Dershowitz said.

Trump’s lawyers have not yet commented on Dershowitz’s remarks.

In addition to the audio recording, prosecutors also have other evidence against Trump, including emails and witness testimony.

It is unclear how Trump’s lawyers will defend him at trial. However, Dershowitz said that they will likely argue that Trump did not knowingly mishandle classified information.

The trial is scheduled to begin in September.

Dershowitz also wondered who might have leaked the audio recording to CNN.

He said that a leak by prosecutors “would almost certainly constitute a crime or at the very least a violation of Justice Department rules.”

A leak by Trump’s defense team would “raise serious legal and ethical questions.”

The Justice Department has not commented on the leak.

The case against Trump is significant because it is the first time a former president has been charged with a felony.

If convicted, Trump could face up to 10 years in prison.

The case is also being closely watched by legal experts, who are interested to see how the Justice Department will proceed.

It remains to be seen whether Trump will be acquitted or convicted.

However, Dershowitz’s advice to Trump is clear: stay quiet about the evidence.
