A man has been charged after allegedly murdering his girlfriend with a meatcleaver and stuffing her body into two suitcases.
Justin Williams, 24, allegedly killed and cut up 22-year-old D’Asia Johnson’s body and continued to live with the victim’s dismembered body weeks after her death.
According to police, he would keep the window open in her flat at all times to try and hide the smell.

The suspect was arrested on October 1 for an unrelated assault, grand larceny and bail jumping in Nassau County and he was charged on Monday after becoming a person of interest in the case.
Police revealed Mr Williams was dating another women at the time and had been using Ms Johnson’s benefits card weeks after her death.
Cops discovered the victim’s remains on September 21 in the bathroom of her flat in Brooklyn, New York alongside a meatcleaver.
An autopsy was performed on Ms Johnson and it was revealed she had died as a result of multiple stab wounds to her chest.
The suspect allegedly stabbed his victim nine times, fives to the chest and four times to her back.
According to neighbours it was alleged the suspect would often attack his victim in the hallway just months before her death.
Stephanie Harris told The Daily News: “He broke her ribs, her legs, a couple months ago. She came back on crutches.”
The concerned neighbour said she sobbed in front of Ms Johnson after trying to warn her about him: “Listen, I don’t want to see you on the news.
“Her mom was complaining, ‘I want to get her away from this building. She’s gonna end up dead, please get her away from this building.’ Nobody wants to listen.”
Ms Johnson went to work on August 21 for her shift at Queens Macy’s and returned home but, according to police, this was the last time she was seen alive again.
There is CCTV footage showing the couple going in and out of her flat between August 17 and 21.
New York Police Department Chief of Detectives James Essig said: “He has exclusive opportunity into that apartment and then after the 22nd, which we believe is the day the homicide occurs, we never see her again.
“After the 22nd, Justin Williams’ new girlfriend shows up.”
When police searched the flat they found a pool of blood across the victim’s flat and her body parts were later discovered in two suitcases at the apartment.
Prosecutors said Mr Williams tried to cover the smell from the two suitcases by using cleaning products and towels, according to court papers.
The suspect faces up to life in prison if convicted.
