As we move into winter months with little sunlight during the day, mum Liffie has found a way to dry clothes indoor without turning on the tumble dryer.
Keen to cut down on household spending as much as possible, she shared her tip to TikTok for others struggling with the cost of living crisis.
“My partner thought of a laundry hack and had to share it with you all,” Liffie said in a TikTok video.

“If you’re like us you need to dry more clothes in a short period of time but you have to rely on an airer, then you need to try this.
“Any clothes that go in drawers, just hang on the airer as normal and any clothes that get hung up, stick it on coat hangers and hang it on the airer.
“This saves so much space and the hang-up stuff can be put straight in the wardrobe once it’s dry.”

The costs to run a tumble dryer, depending on the types of the machine, can go up to £1.82 per cycle, according to reports on Homebuilding & Renovating.
Liffie said the product has become a permanent fixture in her house and it’s been a game changer for her.
“No more folding (unless they go in drawers) and I’m finding that hung-up clothes has minimal creasing too!” she added.

One fan said: “Thanks for sharing, I’ve not even thought of this and I’ve used an airer for ages.”
“I do this too – it just makes sense!” another added.
A survey from online marketplace OnBuy shows sales of clothes dryers and airers “soaring by more than 6,000%”, as the firm’s CEO Cas Paton said: “We are seeing drastic increases in the sales of items that work to reduce energy usage, such as household insulation and radiator reflectors, which both help keep heat inside the home.
“Ultimately, what this tells us is that the British buyer is becoming an increasingly savvy spender.
“This is a surprising, unprecedented, and frankly fascinating development, which lays bare the ever-evolving nature of consumer trends.”
