Poll: Americans increasingly believe Trump is responsible for His own legal troubles, what do you think?

A new poll suggests that public opinion of Donald Trump’s legal battles has shifted in recent months. The poll, conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies exclusively for Newsweek, found that fewer people now believe the legal issues facing the former president are “politically motivated.”
The poll, which surveyed 1,500 voters, was conducted on June 25, after Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 federal offenses as part of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents probe. In the poll, 47% of respondents said that the legal issues Trump is facing are “primarily the result of his own actions which appear to have been illegal,” while 38% believe the investigations are the result of “politically motivated attacks” by Trump’s opponents.
This is a significant shift from the results of a similar poll conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies in April, shortly after Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 felony charges as part of the falsifying business records investigation in New York. In that poll, 57% of respondents said they believed the investigations were politically motivated, while only 34% said they believed Trump was responsible for his own legal troubles.
The June poll also found that fewer voters now believe that Trump should be allowed to run for president again if he is found guilty and imprisoned. In the June poll, 26% of respondents said that Trump should be allowed to run for president again if imprisoned, while 58% said he shouldn’t. This is down from the April poll, in which 38% of respondents said Trump should be allowed to run for president again if imprisoned, and 51% said he shouldn’t.
The poll also found that there has been a decline in the number of people who “strongly support” or “support” the investigations into Trump. In the June poll, 34% of respondents said they “strongly support” the investigations, while 16% said they “support” them. This is down from the April poll, in which 40% of respondents said they “strongly support” the investigations, and 19% said they “support” them.
The results of the poll suggest that public opinion of Trump’s legal battles is shifting. While a majority of Americans still believe that the investigations are politically motivated, fewer people now believe that Trump is innocent of any wrongdoing. The poll also suggests that there is less support for Trump running for president again if he is found guilty and imprisoned.
It remains to be seen how these shifts in public opinion will affect Trump’s political future. However, the poll suggests that the legal battles facing Trump are taking a toll on his public image.
