Representatives from multiple local and state agencies will conduct an active shooter exercise on June 8 at the Raymond J. Bohn Armory

Bismarck, N.D. – According to the city officials, Miriam Avenue, which skirts the south edge of the armory, will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
City officials also said that barricades will be in place at the western edge of the armory and on the east side of the facility on Brigade Street.
Personnel from the North Dakota National Guard will be stationed at the closures to assist motorists with detour routes.
The purpose of the exercise is for public safety agencies to refine their response actions during an active shooter scenario and to identify measures for improved security at Raymond J. Bohn Armory.
Additional participants will include the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services, Bismarck Fire Department, Metro Area Ambulance Service, Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department, Central Dakota Communications Center and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Outside observers are reminded that this is an exercise and they do not need to call 9-1-1 or otherwise alert authorities.
