Russia’s Casualties in Ukraine Near 200,000

As tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue to mount, the Kremlin is preparing for a new offensive in the coming weeks. The conflict has already taken a heavy toll on both sides, with an estimated 200,000 casualties so far.

The majority of the casualties have been civilians, with the United Nations estimating nearly 10,000 deaths since the start of the conflict in 2014. The actual number is likely much higher, as many of the casualties have not been officially documented.

On the Ukrainian side, the government has reported over 6,000 military personnel killed and over 15,000 wounded. The number of non-combatant casualties is unknown, but is likely higher than the military casualties.

The Russian government has not released official figures on its casualties, but independent estimates put the number of Russian military personnel killed at over 10,000. The number of civilian casualties is unknown, but is likely higher than the military casualties.

The conflict has taken a heavy toll on both sides, and the toll is likely to continue to rise as the Kremlin prepares for a new offensive in the coming weeks. With both sides still locked in a stalemate, it is unclear how long the conflict will last or how many more casualties will be inflicted before a resolution is reached.
