She drown her 93-year-old grandmother in kitchen sink and bathtub
Heidi Michelle Matheny, a 35-year-old woman from Ohio, has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for drowning her 93-year-old grandmother, Alice J. Matheny.
The incident took place on November 15, and Matheny pleaded guilty to the crime on March 3.
As seen in body camera footage, she admitted to drowning her grandmother because she was tired of taking care of her and hearing about the family’s financial problems.
Matheny has a history of mental illness and instability, and her defense lawyer noted that she had been willing to take responsibility for her actions since the night of the incident.
