Spring is here! But is it too early to plant your gardens?

Today marks the beginning of astronomical spring, known as the Vernal Equinox. Although meteorological spring began on March 1, many Gulf Coast residents were surprised by the recent cold temperatures.
Despite the different dates marking the start of the warming season, Houston can expect one final push of cold air before summer.
Gardeners can now start planting their vegetable gardens and flower beds as the final freeze of the season appears to have passed in Houston.
FOX 26 Meteorologist John Dawson plans to plant his vegetable garden this week and advises buying transplants from local garden centers. JD posts updates on his garden on Instagram, showcasing his fall and last summer’s harvests.
