Stranded Passenger Calls a Taxi Driver in Tears – What He Does Next Makes Her Cry Even More

One cab driver was merely scheduled to transport passengers to the airport for their trip, but when he learned that it had been canceled, he became a hero.

Elite Central Travel owner John Murphy was only supposed to be transporting his guests from Falkirk to Glasgow Airport so they could catch a flight to London’s Heathrow Airport before heading to the Caribbean.

When British Airways cancelled their Glasgow flight due to bad weather and they had no other options, Murphy drove them 405 miles to the capital… for free.

“I was driving passengers back from Edinburgh when I got a call at 3 a.m. from a passenger I was supposed to be driving to Glasgow in a panic saying their flight had been cancelled,” the 47-year-old said.

He went on to say, “The poor woman was in floods of tears since they had to be to Heathrow for 8 a.m. that morning.”

Murphy sought for additional planes, trains, and other options for them, but there were none.

“There was a flight from Manchester to where they were travelling to,” he explained, “but they couldn’t get on it.” “So, after dropping off my Edinburgh customers and hitting the road to London at 1 a.m., it was a case of returning home for a shower to freshen up.”

“The consumers, on the other hand, were fantastic and really grateful. I didn’t steal anything from them.” – JOHN MURPHY

As if that wasn’t enough, Murphy ended up driving some stranded Londoners back to Falkirk with him.

“I got into my hotel and promptly fell asleep, only to wake up a short time later,” Murphy explained. “I got a message on my phone from a father who was stuck at Heathrow with his kid after going to witness the Rangers game in Germany.”

Murphy’s Facebook post about driving down with a gaggle of passengers caught the man’s attention. Murphy responded by texting him, telling him to meet him at his hotel and that he would take him and his daughter home with him, without charging the passengers.

“I was already in London and had to return to Falkirk.” – JOHN MURPHY

People were quick to praise the hero motorist after hearing about his incredible act.

“You’re a real trooper.” One participant stated, “Not many companies would do this.” “Not all heroes wear capes; some drive taxis,” wrote another. Congratulations to everyone.”

“I’ve been using this cab company for years and they’re fantastic. A third individual added, “Never a hassle and always goes above and beyond.”
