The Main Reason Why Cristiano Ronaldo Still Lives With His Mom

When you become a mega-ultra-superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo does, the first thing people expect you to do is buy a huge house and half a dozen extravagant cars.

While that certainly applies to CR7 – he has a portfolio of at least eight huge mansions all over the world – there’s one thing the Al Nassr star did that sets him apart from the rest: he still lives with his mom. Maybe more accurately, he lets her live with him.

It’s not a very common move for a 38-year-old, especially one of the wealthiest people on the planet, to still live with their mom, but Ronaldo has a good reason for it.

His family grew up insanely poor, and Ronaldo wants to make sure that at this point in her life, his mom is being taken care of. When CR7 was a young boy, she would work 7 days a week and even nights as a cleaning lady just so he could buy a pair of football boots and go to sleep hungry so he could eat. Ronaldo is very much aware of the fact that it’s her mom’s sacrifices that got him to this point in his life.

He’s always been very grateful for his family and even said on multiple occasions that his father isn’t the reason he grew up poor, but the reason he’s going to die rich.

Ronaldo has reasonably achieved everything there is to achieve in his career, and now that most people seem to have let go of the Messi comparisons and we can just appreciate that we were alive during a period when both of these players were at their peak, Ronaldo can finally start enjoying life without having to be in the spotlights every week. Not that anyone thinks he minds.

It’s nice to see that despite his rags-to-riches story, CR7 managed to keep a clear head and is paying it forward to his family and letting them join in his wealth.
