There is no way that Trump will be acquitted in Florida: former Watergate prosecutor (Video)

Former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks and historian Michael Bechloss discuss the similarities between Donald Trump’s behavior and legal woes to those of former President Richard Nixon.
Former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks and historian Michael Bechloss discussed the similarities between Donald Trump’s behavior and legal woes to those of former President Richard Nixon.
Bechloss said that if Nixon had been indicted and fingerprinted, as Wine-Banks and her colleagues had wanted, Trump might not have been so reckless about breaking the law.
Wine-Banks agreed, saying that the reality of Nixon being held accountable might have sent a message to Trump that would have kept him under control.
Wine-Banks also said that one of the largest problems around this issue is that the Fox networks and social media networks allow for an alternate reality to exist, and millions of people ultimately believe in lies.
She pointed to the fact that there were 60 cases thrown out that alleged fraud in the 2020 election, but people still believe that the election was stolen because Donald Trump says it loud and often.
Hasan recalled that Roger Ailes started Fox because he saw what happened to his boss, Nixon, and never wanted it to happen again to another Republican.
Finally, Hasan asked about the Florida case and whether it is possible for Trump to get a fair trial before a jury of his supporters. Wine-Banks said that there is a risk of a hung jury in Florida, but that there is no way that Trump will be acquitted.
She said that jurors take very seriously the guidance from the judge that says they must judge on the evidence in the courtroom, and that the case against Trump is very strong. She also said that there are cases in New Jersey waiting to happen, and that she can’t imagine that Trump won’t be indicted for showing a classified document to a person without security clearance.
In conclusion, Wine-Banks and Bechloss believe that if Nixon had been held accountable for his actions, Trump might not have been so reckless about breaking the law.
They also believe that the Fox networks and social media networks are to blame for the spread of misinformation, and that Trump is unlikely to get a fair trial in Florida.
