Trump’s Foreign Emoluments: Millions of Dollars in Payments from Foreign Governments?

Rep. Jamie Raskin to release report on Trump’s foreign emoluments: Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) announced on ABC’s “This Week” that he will release a report on all the outside money that Donald Trump and his family raked in while he was in office.

Raskin’s report will focus on the foreign government emoluments that Trump received, which are payments or gifts that a government official receives from a foreign government. The Constitution prohibits federal officials from receiving emoluments from foreign governments without the consent of Congress.

Raskin said that his report will document “millions of dollars” that Trump and his family received from foreign governments through their businesses, hotels, and golf courses. He also said that the report will show that Trump’s actions violated the Constitution.

Raskin’s announcement comes as Trump is facing a number of legal challenges, including two federal indictments. Raskin said that he hopes his report will help to hold Trump accountable for his actions.

“We’re going to release a report about all of the foreign government emoluments and millions of dollars we can document that Donald Trump pocketed at the hotels, at the golf courses and through business deals when he was president and that his family got,” Raskin told ABC host Jonathan Karl.

Raskin also took aim at Trump’s Republican colleagues, who he said have been silent about Trump’s legal problems.

“They’re not saying that about Donald Trump,” Raskin accused. “Any time Donald Trump actually gets indicted, after a grand jury has already determined that there’s probable cause, they attack the prosecutors, they attack the judges.”
