Unfortunate father had no idea a ‘wrong number text would save his family’!

Let’s be honest – you’ve probably texted a wrong number once or twice in your lifetime, right? Well, ladies and gentlemen, you may have even received a confusing text from a stranger, only to receive another one that read, “Sorry, wrong number!”
It’s not every day that you get to change someone’s life when you type in the wrong digit and Syd did just that. She was trying out dresses for an event.
She wanted someone’s opinion on the one she had picked out, so she decided to text photos of it to one of her friends. Unfortunately, she sent the photos to the wrong number. Instead of just letting her know a complete stranger had received her texts, Tony, decided to have some fun.
He responded to her texts, “I believe this message was intended for someone else. My wife isn’t home, so I couldn’t get her opinion, but the kids and I think you look stunning in your dress! You should definitely go with that one!” Tony sent a follow-up photo of five of his kids smiling and flashing two thumbs up each. When the exchange took place, Syd couldn’t help but share it with her friends. One of them, Mandi, posted screenshots of the text message to Twitter. Then, you know how it goes. Her post almost immediately went viral.
Twitter users absolutely loved the supportive response that Tony gave Syd. When the tweet went viral, one user informed Mandi in the replies section that one of Tony’s children – his second-youngest named Kaizler – was not in the photo as he was being treated for leukemia. The Twitter user stated, “Hope Twitter does its magic. Below is the GoFundMe link for Kaizler’s treatment for leukemia.
Kaizler is missing in the picture. Let’s get a thumbs up from him too.” Of course, Twitter had to oblige. As a result of the accidental text and the following viral tweet, Syd and her friends helped the four-year-old and his family raise over $3,000 to help fund his treatment.
Tony soon responded, “Hello! Apparently you have made my children Twitter famous. My second youngest (not pictured, he was at the chemo clinic) has a Facebook page for his fight against leukemia and one of our prayer warriors recognized the children.
By the way, my wife agreed that the dress looked great! God bless!” Soon enough, he sent a photo of little Kaizler flashing a pair of thumbs up for Syd as well. Tony shared in an interview, “Since this all started we’ve had over $3,000 donated for our little cancer patient. That’s more than we had donated in total over the last two years. It’s been amazing and is a bigger blessing than anyone could ever know.
We were backed up to a financial wall. I’ve been working the entire time, but I was slowly but surely succumbing to the financial rigors of the situation.”
Mother Rachel was also overwhelmed by the response. “It is so refreshing to be reminded that there are good people in the world who still care about others and are quick to be generous and kind to others,” she said. “I would also like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words, all the prayers, all the donations, all the love, and support.
We honestly would never have been able to make it to a happy ending in our journey without every single one of you!” If you would like to make a donation to help out Kaizler, you can visit his GoFundMe. You can also follow his journey via his Facebook group.
