‘We just had to watch it burn to shreds’: Neighbors of a Little Rock family that perished in a horrific house fire

Neighbors of a Little Rock family that perished in a horrific house fire Friday morning are left grappling with the devastating tragedy.

Authorities said that four people were found dead inside the home at 4800 Greenfield Drive at around 1:30 a.m. shortly after the neighbors called 911.

“All I could do was yell and scream ‘Their house was on fire,’ and I called 911 immediately,” neighbor Destiny Davenport said.

“After I called 911, the fire just grew. There wasn’t a chance of even anyone being saved.”

The woman said that her security camera caught the tragic blaze but she can’t look at the “devastating” scene.

“It gets more devastating just to know that people were in that house. We just had to watch it burn to shreds and couldn’t do anything.”

The neighbor described seeing windows and power lines popping drowning the street in the dark.

“Never had a tragedy like this in the neighborhood ever,” Davenport added.

As investigators work to determine a cause for the deadly blaze, Davenport is urging people to check their smoke-detecting devices.

“Stay prayed up and always love your loved ones because you never know when the end comes,” she said.
