Wife pleas for answers after husband found shot to death early Sunday

A Houston mother is pleading for answers after her husband, Gerardo Filomeno, was killed in a shooting that left three men dead. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning on Beechnut Street, with little information available regarding the circumstances of the crime.

Houston Police Department Assistant Chief Chandra Hatcher has confirmed that officers responded to a call reporting the shooting just before 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered three males in the parking lot, all deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. No suspects have yet been identified, and no witnesses or vehicles have been reported.

One of those killed was Gerardo Filomeno, a father of two who family members say was getting his life back on track. His wife, Ashley Montalbo, spoke out about her husband’s death and the impact it will have on their family.

“I saw his shoes, his boots. That’s when I knew it was him,” Montalbo explained. “How am I supposed to tell them that their dad is never coming back?”

Montalbo also stressed that Gerardo was not the intended target of the shooting, stating that he was “the sweetest, nicest person ever” and did not have problems with anybody. She believes he was caught in the crossfire and unintentionally struck by the gunfire.

The family is pleading with the public for information, asking anyone who may have witnessed or heard anything to come forward. Montalbo expressed frustration at the lack of information available and the number of people in the area who should have seen or heard something.

“I just want somebody to say something because there were too many freaking people in the street for nobody to not have seen anything,” Montalbo said.
