Yet to be identified Suspect Arrested After Stealing Houston FD Ambulance

Houston officials are sharing preliminary details after an ambulance was stolen from the Houston Fire Department (FD) and the suspect was captured.

The incident happened on Sunday morning when the ambulance was taken from a fire station located in southeast Houston. The suspect reportedly drove off in the ambulance and headed towards downtown Houston.

The Houston Police Department (HPD) was quickly notified and began to search for the ambulance. After a short pursuit, the suspect was captured and the ambulance was recovered.

No injuries were reported and the suspect is currently in custody. The FD is now investigating the incident and has yet to release further details.

This is the second time an ambulance has been stolen from the Houston FD in the last few months. In March, a different ambulance was taken from the same fire station. That suspect was also captured and the ambulance was returned.

The FD is urging the public to be aware of their surroundings and to contact authorities if they see anything suspicious. In addition, the FD is reminding residents to never leave their vehicles unattended.
