Mary Noble Johnson, a 64-year-old grandmother, has been charged with abandoning or endangering a child in connection to the murder of her 4-year-old grandson, Grayson Hurt.
Johnson’s daughter, Monica Nicole Figueroa, was also arrested and charged with capital murder in her son’s death.
Johnson had called the police requesting a wellness check at her daughter’s residence, saying she was afraid her daughter may have harmed her grandson.
Police found the boy’s body inside the front door, and the investigation revealed Figueroa likely killed Hurt using “an edged weapon,” allegedly in front of Johnson the previous afternoon.
Despite witnessing the murder, Johnson waited until the following day before calling the police. The incident is still under investigation by multiple agencies.
