Father accused of killing 5 week old daughter, there were numerous injuries on the baby’s body!!!
A Cameron Park man was arrested this week over the death of his infant daughter from “numerous injuries” on Father’s Day.
37-year-old Kevin Van Streefkerk was charged with intentional murder, assault of a child resulting in their death, and other counts after the June 18 death of his 5-week-old daughter.
Investigators said that the baby was abused Saturday before succumbing to her wounds the following day.
Streefkerk worked as a technician at the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services since 2016.
“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the circumstances around this event,” a spokesperson for the Cal OES said.
“We are coordinating closely with the law enforcement agencies on their investigation, and it is our understanding that the alleged events occurred outside of his capacity as a state employee.”
