Parenting today is a fulltime job in itself. So for all the single parents out there who are raising children while keeping a roof over their heads and full bellies, my hat goes off to you. Parenting can be difficult, sometimes seeming impossible, but parents have a special in them that Awakens the day long before they even meet their child.

Most parents will do anything to protect their babies and give them the life they deserve. They say raising a child takes a village and this is especially true for single parents who have to carry every responsibility.

This is why Daycare is such a valuable tool in rearing our children into respectful and responsible humans. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have to worry about a Daycare’s actions or how they treat our children.

We automatically assume that they will be as good parents to our kids as we are when we’re not there. Well, Heather Chisholm and her son had an experience that is simply appalling. There is no excuse for treating children or parents in this way, so she took to Facebook to see if maybe she was in the wrong.

Things escalated very quickly and the future is uncertain for one day care and their current practices. It read so I need opinions. Am I right to be furious about this or am I overreacting?

I really need your opinion skies because I’m about to barge in this daycare tomorrow morning and have some words. Every day when I pick Finn and Milo up from daycare, they put a daily report paper in Milo’s lunch box.

It says what mood he was in for the day, what time they changed his diapers, and if he needs diapers or wipes. She continues, I’m a single mom with a full time job and two very young children. Sue me for not reading the report every single day, I guess. Yesterday they wrote on his report that he needs diapers and I fail to see that. Now keep in mind, I see several teachers, a drop off, and several at pick up.

If I fail to see that he needs diapers, a simple hey Heather, your son needs diapers. Maybe you missed the report would have done the trick from any of the many teachers there I see daily. In the very worst case scenario, I can’t see anything other than need diapers needing to be written.

Why a big long message needed to be written across my son’s stomach is beyond me. She also suggested they could have just as easily written the note on his actual diaper rather than his skin or, you know, just tell me.

She writes in all caps. But instead I change his diaper this afternoon and see this written on my son with marker. You can’t even see all of it in the picture. It says, Mom, I’m out of diapers. Please read my report.

I’ve scrubbed it with several baby wipes and it’s not coming off. I had plans to take them to the beach to play and now I can’t because my son is writing all over him. Heather picked up her kids like she does every day, but when she got home, she noticed something on her son’s stomach. It was a message written in permanent marker that the daycare wanted to make sure mom didn’t miss this. Take care decided to write on this little boy’s stomach that he needed more diapers at daycare.

Rather than talk to the mother, call, text, or message her, they wrote on her son’s stomach with a permanent marker. Needless to say, Heather was speechless. She scrubbed and scrubbed and the marker just wouldn’t wash off. I can’t imagine what her son was thinking as this was going on. I am stunned that this is the way the daycare chose to contact Heather.

They pinned down her son and wrote on his stomach. There was nothing he could do. So Heather wanted to make sure that her livid state of mind wasn’t unwarranted. She asked her friends on Facebook And things took off from there. Her post has seen nearly 300 shares already.

This is what the internet had to say about the incident. As you can imagine, this news spread like wildfire. Parents do not take kindly to abuse to children, and everyone is in Heather’s corner as she fights this battle. Aside from that, there are so many other appropriate ways to contact the mother regarding diapers. This is something the news needs to make the public aware of.

They could have written on a piece of paper or they could have talked to her when she picked up her kids. They did this and expected her to find it. When she got home, the commenters started tagging the local news stations. Heather realized that her being furious was not uncalled for. And in fact, it was the reaction that everyone had.

Even those who didn’t have children are livid. I have a feeling that even if Heather doesn’t report them, A thousand other concerned people will. This person used to work for a daycare and express their concern. What else are they getting away with? This is obviously just the beginning of this investigation.

This Commenter brought this to the attention of her mother, who is a police officer. The mother replied, stating more or less that this daycare is in a lot of trouble. It wasn’t long until news media outlets started to reach out to Heather to feature her story and bring awareness to the situation. Being a single parent is already tough enough. Nobody should ever have to deal with this kind of behavior.

The daycare will ultimately be held responsible. Whoever thought this was a good idea Obviously needs to have their childcare practices examined closely Because this is not okay. Parents have enough to worry about. They shouldn’t have to worry about the people they trust to care for their children.
