Savannah Bananas lose to Party Animals in sold-out game in Sugar Land

Savannah Bananas take over Sugar Land with multiple sold-out shows

FOX 26’s Matthew Seedorff tested his skills on the field with the team, hoping to one day join their ranks. The Savannah Bananas started their trifecta of games in Sugar Land on Thursday evening in front of a sold-out crowd.

“I’m keeping this shirt on until Monday, or whenever school starts again,” stated a young fan. The Bananas play a unique style of baseball called “Banana Ball,” which includes a two-hour time limit and features outfield fans who can catch a foul ball to get the batter out.

“Our goal was to make baseball fun,” said Jesse Cole, owner of the Savannah Bananas. Players interact with fans before and after games within and outside the stadium.

The three games in Sugar Land are sold out, and there are over 500,000 people on the waiting list to see the Bananas play on their tour.
