UPDATE: Two Fatal Crashes in East Harris County Lead to Road Closures

A tragic day in East Harris County has left at least two people dead and parts of the highway shut down following two separate crashes.
The first crash occurred in the 14900 block of Beaumont Highway, involving two vehicles, one of which was engulfed in flames. At least one person died from the crash, while another was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. As a result, the highway was closed in both directions, with westbound traffic rerouted at the Beltway and eastbound traffic forwarded at Shelton.
The second incident happened in the 1500 block of Woodforest, where a person was struck by a car and died at the scene. Woodforest is also closed as a result.
At this time, authorities are still piecing together what led up to the two deadly crashes and an investigation is underway. As of now, no additional information has been released.
This is a developing story and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, drivers are advised to check current traffic conditions before heading out.
