For five months she knitted her wedding dress on the bus ride to work, and the result is simply stunning!

It’s amazing the things you can do when you use your time wisely.
Chi Caranta didn’t spend her 50 minute bus ride every morning browsing Facebook, or chatting on WhatsApp. Instead, she invested her time wisely – she turned five months of traveling into a stunning wedding
dress.
Caranta, a gifted knitter, decided to knit her wedding dress to save money and to pay tribute to the woman who taught her to knit.
“I thought knitting my wedding dress would be a beautiful way to honor the memory of my grandmother who taught me to knit when I was a child”, she said.
“I wish my grandmother could see the dress, but she passed away several years ago”.
Most women pay a lot of money for their wedding dress, but it cost Carante $30 (plus the cost of the bus ride), and by knitting the dress every morning on the bus ride, she freed up time to plan the wedding.
As someone who has gone through the process, Caranta has some advice for brides-to-be: “I think you should remember that there is no right way to do your wedding. Your wedding is yours, your partner’s, your
family’s and your friends'”, she said. “I will definitely pass the dress on to my girls if they want it”.
Caranta proved that a beautiful wedding dress does not have to cost a lot of money. “The dress was basically free because I didn’t spend money on it (less than $30 for all the materials). And I didn’t have
to “waste” time on it, I couldn’t have used my commute every morning in a better way”.
Brides only wear their wedding dress once, Caranta has plans for hers.
“The dress can be washed in a washing machine (I washed it several times), does not wrinkle and does not need special care, I plan to wear it again in a combination of other colors”.
Her efforts wouldn’t have mattered if the dress hadn’t turned out so stunning. And we think it’s time for us to use our free time a little more efficiently and wisely. Who knows what magic we can create..
